It almost time

Planning this trip required more time than I first thought, which has kept me from posting. I apologize, but we leave on Saturday, so post resume now.

We've added another "Green" stop along the way. We'll be visiting Buffalo Ridge Wind Farm in Hendricks, MN

Over 400 wind turbines are currently in use generating 300,000 megawatts of energy providing power to 110,000 homes. There are plans currently in the works to add more turbines and make the system even more efficient. One of the nice features of wind farms is that they can be a cash bonanza for farmers, who rent the land or sell the wind rights, but still can use the land for crops or live stock. Thus it's a win-win situation for the farmers and for the people whose electricity is provided by the wind turbines. I am looking forward to seeing how they work

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. We are eager to find out how the rest of the country lives responsibly, so send in your ideas.
